Park House Care Home raises over £150 for Norfolk Blood Bikes with Summer Garden Party!

We were delighted to have such a fantastic response from our local community in attending our Summer Garden Party to help raise funds and awareness for this vital charitable service.

Norfolk Blood Bikes transport blood and other lifesaving medical fluids to people most in need throughout Norfolk and Suffolk’s hospitals.

This organisation is fully run by an amazing team of volunteers and we are incredibly proud to be able to  support this amazing cause.

With our wonderful kitchen team on hand providing a beautiful buffet complete with savoury and sweet treats, beautiful handmade cakes, salads and a beautiful selection of drinks at the homes Hydration Station. We wanted to extend our sincerest thanks to our brilliant Chef Carol for the amazing selection of foods she made for this special occasion!

Our residents were treated to a wonderful performance in the afternoon by one of our favourite entertainers across the group – the wonderful Splash Duo!

They delighted our residents and their friends and family with a wonderful selection of jiving tunes for our residents to dust off their dancing shoes.

We were lucky enough to have two fabulous representatives from our benefactors at Norfolk Blood Bikes attend, to explain their vital role to our residents and allow them to ask questions about their service. As well as this they even brought one of their state-of-the-art motorcycles for our residents to see, with some even taking their place astride the machine for a wonderful photoshoot!

This brought back a lot of memories for some of our residents, who were previously bikers in their younger years.  Getting the chance to mount the saddle and flash the lights was a really terrific experience which our residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed.

We were also lucky enough to have the debut appearance of the Black Swan Clown – Curly! Who will be at a number of our upcoming events to spread good cheer, take fun photographs with our wonderful guests, and hand out balloons to all of the lovely littluns attending.

Throughout the day we held a number of different fundraising activities and events including a splendid raffle full of amazing prizes donated by local businesses and organisations. Thank you to every single person who provided a donation to our prize fund!

They grand finale for the day was an amazing rendition of Locomotion by Splash Duo in their encore, which saw our residents, staff and residents loved ones doing a conga throughout the courtyard garden with big smiles on their faces.

Thank you to everyone who attended, and a huge congratulations to the amazing team at Park House Care Home in Great Yarmouth, led by our wonderful home manager Sara Pearce, with support from Activities Coordinator Brittany and the rest of our amazing team. You are all social care superheroes!
