Cambridgeshire Care Homes celebrate Platinum Jubilee!

Black Swan Care Group residents throughout Cambridgeshire mark Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style with amazing celebrations!

Potton View Care Home, Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire

Our residents at Potton View Care Home in Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire were overjoyed with their amazing Platinum Jubilee celebrations which saw family and friends of our residents return for the first fully open event since Covid19 began.

Residents were treated to a fantastic lunch in the homes garden with a glorious buffet thanks to the generosity and commitment of the amazing kitchen team who well and truly went above and beyond. Catering to a host of different dietary requirements and tastes, our staff team ensured their was something for everyone’s tastes. 

Potton View Care Home also recently benefitted from an amazing new public house/bar which was custom built in the lounge by our maintenance team and allows our residents to pull a pint and have an amazing experience serving in a traditional English Pub – which proved very popular for the Jubilee celebrations!

The Gables Care Home, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire

At The Gables Care Home in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire our residents were blown away by the amazing celebrations put on by staff within the home, to make this poignant occasion even more special for our residents.

For our elderly homes the Jubilee is even more memorable and impactful as many of our residents recall the coronation and Queen’s wedding day in great detail, and reinforcing these memories by celebrating such fantastic parts of history is a wonderful benefit for memory recall and reminiscence, as well as being lots of fun!

Our wonderful kitchen team led by Chef Heath Brown worked tirelessly to bring our residents a traditional Sunday lunch for the special occasion, as well as sweet treats and cakes handmade and personalised to each residents requirements and tastes. 

We wanted to share our sincerest thanks to the team at The Gables who not only provided an amazing spread, but also decorated the home, provided entertainment, invited residents loved ones and all-in-all created an amazing event our residents are sure not to forget!
