Black Swan Care Group Homes celebrate St Patrick's Day 2022

24/03/2022
The Gables Care Home staff and residents pose for a St Patricks Day photo!

Black Swan Care Group homes mark St Patrick's day with host of wonderful in-house activities!

We are so incredibly impressed by the dedication of our team across the last two years to ensure that in spite of what is going on outside the home, our residents are receiving a varied activities schedule and celebrating events that matter to them in a person-centred way.

We've seen the amazing effort you put into St Patrick's Day 2022 and we couldn't resist showing off a few examples of excellence from across the group!

The Gables Care Home, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire

At The Gables all staff and residents wore green for the day, to

tie in with their fantastic St Patrick's themed activities with Activities Coordinator Lorna Jones.

Chef Heath took to the kitchen to create a traditional Irish feast for the day complete with personalised St Patrick's Day cards to each resident from the staff team, and a beautiful pudding to follow!

York House Care Home, Dereham, Norfolk

At York House Care Home our residents have been working

hard in the lead-up to St Patricks Day decorating the dining room with amazing hanging papercrafts and garlands.

Residents spent their afternoons in the lead up taking part in art classes with their in-house Activities Coordinators Phoebe and Salma who've been hard at work assisting them to make leprechauns, papercrafts, and much much more.

Our residents were also treated to an amazing St Patricks Day lunch cooked by our wonderful chef Sally - a former pastry chef, Sally is always serving our residents wonderful treats!

Kings Lynn Residential Home, Norfolk

At Kings Lynn Residential Home our wonderful residents dressed up in green for the day, with some residents even dressing up in St Patricks Day costumed for the special occasion.

They then enjoyed St Patrick's Day cupcakes which they assisted in baking with our amazing kitchen team. They went down a treat with a lovely cuppa!

Our kitchen team also went above and beyond creating some amazing dishes for lunch, which our residents thoroughly enjoyed.

They were also treated to an Irish jig performance by one of our amazing staff members!

Mid Meadows Care Home, Clacton-On-Sea, Essex

In the lead up to St Patrick's Day our residents spent time with their wonderful Activities Coordinator Sara who taught them to make their own crafts for the special day.

Residents created some amazing green displays for the home including a wonderful ireland themed activities board full of hand cut paper four-leaf-clovers and big green top hats!

The Lodge Care Home, Walton-On-The-Naze, Essex

At The Lodge Care Home our residents got creative

in recent art sessions with staff, where they decided to create their very own rainbow leading to a pot o gold!

They hand cut four-leaf-clovers, painted their gold, made their own pot of gold and got all our residents involved in making our rainbow out of paper disks so everyone could add to it.

They enjoyed eating their St Patrick's themed lunch in the dining room in direct view of their wonderful artwork, well done to the amazing resident group and staff team.

The Beeches Care Home, East Harling, Norfolk

Our residents at The Beeches were spoilt when chef Alison  produced this beautiful cake for St Patrick's Day - it brought a lot of smiles to our residents faces when they were surprised with this lovely treat!

Residents spent the day with staff creating their own custom four-leaf-clover bunting to go on display in the home, with each of our residents decorating their four-leaf-clover in a personalised design of their choosing to make sure everyone in the home is represented.

We wanted to take a moment to thank all of our amazing staff group for always going above and beyond to ensure that our residents are living enriching, fulfilling and independent lives whilst in our care.

You truly are superheroes and we are so proud of you all!
